WORK
Supporting the Reintegration of Returning Tunisians in Tunisia
Migration policies and projects have become one of the main developing areas of support within international development policies in recent years. As part of my advisory work, I lead the mobility and migration component of a project that seeks to support the socio-economic reintegration of Tunisian nationals returning to Tunisia, while also offering opportunities for circular mobility, through my advisory work with the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training in Tunisia.
Circular Mobility Project in Tunisia
My work consists mainly of assessing the current capacities of labour-market actors that support the socio-economic integration of returning Tunisians. I also provide direct support to these institutions through my advisory work, which is operationalised through the adaptation of existing programmes and services within state institutions, as well as the development of new tools linked to the private sector and labour-market gaps identified in Tunisia.
As a migration practitioner, I value the opportunity to collaborate with multiple international development and donor institutions, while tracing the current evolution of migration policies and programmes. Labour mobility has increasingly emerged as a key area of support, alongside vocational training and entrepreneurship within migration projects. This creates opportunities to connect different interests while strengthening the capacity of developing countries to manage their own socio-economic priorities, particularly those related to employment.
